Designing With Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025

Hello Beautiful Friends!

In case you hadn't heard, Pantone released their Color of the Year for 2025:

MOCHA MOUSSE was the big winner this year!

The Color of the Year (COTY) from Pantone often forecasts what's coming in fashion, home decor, and design trends. The average consumer does not think along the lines of what the design world might be planning when making a purchase. I am right there. However, as a graphic designer and a designer of fashion and home decor, I am eager to see what color is picked by Pantone each year. 

This year's pick, Mocha Mousse, seems to be perfect for neutral or earth tone-based design applications. Here are a few pattern designs I created for my Spoonflower shop based on the COTY, Mocha Mousse and the coordinating color palette supplied by Spoonflower. Some of these designs are also available in my Raspberry Creek Fabrics Shop.

Happy Summer, Friends! What's New?

Hello Beautiful Friends!

HAPPY SUMMER!

It's been awhile since I have updated you on the happenings. Sorry about that! Life comes at you fast and in waves sometimes. I am sure you can relate. 

Since we last met, my #1 Grandbubble graduated from High School 😢 I'm not crying, you're crying...It's not that I cannot believe how fast time flies, but I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! So much good stuff ahead for her. 

I have squeezed in time to update my shops and stores and even to paint, just for fun! If you are with me on Instagram, you may have seen my #SketchbookGirls series. I am challenging myself to practice faces and figures, but with my usual expressive twist. I'd love to hear your comments on the ladies. Which one is your favorite?

These illustrations are actually really fun, using mixed media and trying new things. Summer, after all is a time for exploring!

New Fabric and Wallpaper Featuring Pantone's 2024 Color of the Year!

Hello Beautiful Friends!

Have you heard? Pantone's Color of the Year for 2024 is Peach Fuzz. 

I wasn't really sure what to do with this muted color palette, but thanks to Spoonflower, I was prompted to create something in order to join the latest design challenge. Pantone partnered with Spoonflower for this challenge. You can read more about it here. 

Once I started sketching, the ideas began to flow. I love it when that happens! I did enter the challenge with this design:

I've since designed more, the collection growing to 12+ designs! It incorporates the Peach Plethora color palette that Pantone provided to coordinate with Peach Fuzz. Moment of honesty here: I like the Plethora colors more than Peach Fuzz. But I now have several coordinates to help you create magic with your quilt, craft, or sewing projects!

Today is the last day of the challenge, so my Peachy Garden Wonderland design will be available soon on Spoonflower. If you missed voting, I am entered in the next round,  where the challenge is "Welcoming Walls". You can Vote Now for my design, Winter Bliss Watercolor Floral. Lots of really pretty wallpaper entries! Vote on as many as you like.

How to Find Coordinate Fabrics on Raspberry Creek Fabrics!

Hello Beautiful Friends!

I have a quick tip for finding coordinating fabrics and wallpapers in my shop on Raspberry Creek Fabrics! 

If you find a design you love, look in the description or the tags for the name of its Collection. Some designers put this information in the description, some in the tags. See the example below. I highlighted the collection in black.

Next, copy and paste this collection name into the search bar in the upper left corner like this:

Once you put the information in the search bar, a drop down menu will give you a glimpse of any designs under that collection name. NOTE: There may be more than one collection with the same name, so look for the designer listed with each design. You can click on individual items in the drop down, or just hit enter in the search bar and you will see something like this page:

All designs with this collection name will show up on a new page! You can check the filter Browse by Designer area at the left of the page to see if you are dealing with just one designer or more. 

That's It!

I hope this helps you navigate Raspberry Creek Fabrics. Chances are if you find a fabric or wallpaper you love, there are coordinates that will add to your project.

Summer is for fun, but also for planning end-of-the-year things, like back-to-school, Halloween, and dare I say it...the Holidays!

I know a lot of makers are setting their sights on holiday crafting. Handmade gifts seem essential in these times and everybody loves homemade Halloween Costumes, am I right? I made a lot of my son's Halloween costumes when he was little. He was a ghost, Peter Pan, a bear, all which I made with crafting supplies. Have you ever made a costume for your little one or yourself? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below. :)

Hello, Beautiful Friends!

It's Friday! Actually, the last Friday of Summer. :(

Don't be blue, it just means that we are headed into the best season of all...FALL! 

Cooler air and prettier sunsets! 

Summer was a great time of creating for me. What did you do this Summer? Head on down to the comments section below and tell me one great thing you did this Summer. 

Anyway, below is a sampling of the googobbs of patterns I created this Summer. 

Maybe it was because it was toooo hot to go outside, or maybe I was just in the ZONE. (creatives, can you relate?) There are lots more new designs on fabric and home decor in JLopezArt Spoonflower shop. 

Designs include calming bamboo, palms and leafy botanicals, as well as Fall leaves and cutsie Halloween. I've also got pillows and home decor, masks and more, all with my latest designs in my Zazzle Shop.
