September Art Walk News

Fall Fun in Oceanside The September Art Walk is Friday!   The Oceanside First Friday Art Walk is this Friday! In case you missed the last one, it was a blast! So many people and the most artist/vendors EVER for the Oceanside Art Walk! As always, thank you to those who could make it out for the event. Your support of my small creative business means so much to me! Here are the details for Friday: Loads of artists & artisans showing off their artful treasures Live music from local musicians throughout the venue, including an interactive drum circle A Kid's Art area and possible treasure hunt with StudioAce (in Artists Alley) The Art Walk runs from 5-8pm with a Concert After Dark from 8-9pm in the Civic Center Plaza by the fountain! All the fun happens at Pier View Way and PCH, in Artists Alley and the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza Fountain Area. I will have SCIARPA! Scarves and hand-painted Greeting Cards with me. I will also be showcasing a few designs from the new FALL COLLECTION, and maybe even some Holiday designs. You can preview the FALL COLLECTION catalog on my website now. And just a reminder, you can view the collection NOW (which I launched early) on the website and grab your favorite from the new Fall Collection at a discount! My Scarf Design Process - From Art to Fashion

Hello Beautiful Friends!

I often get asked where my scarf designs come from. Well, the answer is rather obvious - and vague at the same time.

Above is an original artwork, Jubilant, and the finished scarf designed from the art. But How did I do it?Well, it’s a process. Let’s break it down.

I paint, draw, illustrate and doodle my way into most of my scarf designs.

It is not as simple as painting on fabric, although that is a magical process. Most of the time, I paint a floral on canvas or paper and then the process begins.

If my painting has elements that I feel would make a beautiful fabric or home decor, I start dissecting it into elements, colors, etc.

I scan my work, I open my artwork in Procreate on my iPad, and then I select and separate each element. Once everything is on a separate layer, I then transfer the artwork to Photoshop and begin laying out the design.

The final step is laying the finished design out in my scarf template, uploading it to my fulfillment center, and posting it for sale on my website and Etsy store.

If you are a designer, this may all make sense to you. If not, it may be clear as swamp water. Sorry about that.

Nevertheless, that is my usual process.

It always starts as a painting, and then I use my Graphic Designer background to create the design.

Well, we made it through the holiday season. I hope it brought you Peace and Love.

As we move into the New Year, there are feelings of renewal, hope, and maybe even some unease. Hopefully, you are in the hopeful category. I am a combination of all three.

I have an exciting new project in the works, which I will write about in the near future. 

But, in the meantime, I am focusing my efforts on beautiful things: Daily meditations, Less News.

I am starting some new projects to redirect my energy - designing and painting with my new art supplies. (Thank you, Santa Husband)
