Designing With Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025

In case you hadn't heard, Pantone released their Color of the Year for 2025:

MOCHA MOUSSE was the big winner this year!

The Color of the Year (COTY) from Pantone often forecasts what's coming in fashion, home decor, and design trends. The average consumer does not think along the lines of what the design world might be planning when making a purchase. I am right there. However, as a graphic designer and a designer of fashion and home decor, I am eager to see what color is picked by Pantone each year. 

This year's pick, Mocha Mousse, seems to be perfect for neutral or earth tone-based design applications. Here are a few pattern designs I created for my Spoonflower shop based on the COTY, Mocha Mousse and the coordinating color palette supplied by Spoonflower. Some of these designs are also available in my Raspberry Creek Fabrics Shop.

My Designs Roaming Free!

Hello Beautiful Friends!

Just got back from an awe inspiring journey to India. The people are so colorful, the food is spicy and the architecture sings in gemstones! We just happened to be there for Holi - the all community celebration of color and JOY! A great creative refuel, to be sure.

I returned home to find message from some creatives who have used my fabric and wallpaper designs for various projects. I thought it would be fun to share with you.

My new friend Darlene sent these image of her new valances, skillfully created by Rose Morgan of NC. She used my Autumn Sunnies on Brick Red to complement her warm kitchen wall color. 

Next, Carmen of 'Auntie Carms Creeations' on Facebook designed these Ribbon Skirts using my Valentine Confetti & Hearts on Black fabric. She even created some cute coasters with the left over fabric!

Finally, Audry T. chose my Jubilant Wallpaper to add some Springtime to her TV room. Adding self-adhesive wallpaper from my Raspberry Creek Fabrics Shop to the built-ins was an easy and affordable way to update this space!

Hi Friends!

As many may have read last week, I have joined a creative challenge called the 3x3 Design Challenge by the awesome creatives at Sketch Design Repeat. 

The challenge is one prompt a week for 3 weeks and I am excited to challenge myself creatively and also finding the time to add just one more design to my work week. I have made it through week 2! 

This week's prompt is  Wild Abstraction. You will see one of the designs I created for my contribution below:

BW Ovals

My inspiration comes from a geometric shape and since I always love color, I thought I would challenge myself to stick to shades of Black and White. It is definitely abstract and seems wild, like the out of this world kind. 

What do you think of this design? Would you like to see this as fabric? Maybe on upholstery? I might like this on an oversized chair.
