End of Summer Update and Design Challenge Voting

Hello Beautiful Friends!

As Summer comes to a close, I hope you had a chance to do all the Summer things.

It's always a bitter-sweet time of year - days start to get shorter, Art Walks end for the season, and time spent with family wanes, as the kids go back to school.

I look forward to the cooler Fall weather, but here in Southern California, our second Summer is just getting started! We get our beach back from all the visitors and the weather is as hot as ever.

I am thankful to all of you who came out to the many Oceanside Art Walks this Summer. It was a great time of fine art, music, crafts, and fun. I was able to showcase many of my new SCIARPA! Scarf designs and met so many new local artists. 

For those who missed the Summer Art Walks, there are still a few events coming up!

Stay tuned for more information on the Oceanside Art Festival in October and the Holiday Bazaar at the Seabird Resort in December!

Designing With Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025

In case you hadn't heard, Pantone released their Color of the Year for 2025:

MOCHA MOUSSE was the big winner this year!

The Color of the Year (COTY) from Pantone often forecasts what's coming in fashion, home decor, and design trends. The average consumer does not think along the lines of what the design world might be planning when making a purchase. I am right there. However, as a graphic designer and a designer of fashion and home decor, I am eager to see what color is picked by Pantone each year. 

This year's pick, Mocha Mousse, seems to be perfect for neutral or earth tone-based design applications. Here are a few pattern designs I created for my Spoonflower shop based on the COTY, Mocha Mousse and the coordinating color palette supplied by Spoonflower. Some of these designs are also available in my Raspberry Creek Fabrics Shop.

My Designs Roaming Free!

Hello Beautiful Friends!

Just got back from an awe inspiring journey to India. The people are so colorful, the food is spicy and the architecture sings in gemstones! We just happened to be there for Holi - the all community celebration of color and JOY! A great creative refuel, to be sure.

I returned home to find message from some creatives who have used my fabric and wallpaper designs for various projects. I thought it would be fun to share with you.

My new friend Darlene sent these image of her new valances, skillfully created by Rose Morgan of NC. She used my Autumn Sunnies on Brick Red to complement her warm kitchen wall color. 

Next, Carmen of 'Auntie Carms Creeations' on Facebook designed these Ribbon Skirts using my Valentine Confetti & Hearts on Black fabric. She even created some cute coasters with the left over fabric!

Finally, Audry T. chose my Jubilant Wallpaper to add some Springtime to her TV room. Adding self-adhesive wallpaper from my Raspberry Creek Fabrics Shop to the built-ins was an easy and affordable way to update this space!

How to Find Coordinate Fabrics on Raspberry Creek Fabrics!

Hello Beautiful Friends!

I have a quick tip for finding coordinating fabrics and wallpapers in my shop on Raspberry Creek Fabrics! 

If you find a design you love, look in the description or the tags for the name of its Collection. Some designers put this information in the description, some in the tags. See the example below. I highlighted the collection in black.

Next, copy and paste this collection name into the search bar in the upper left corner like this:

Once you put the information in the search bar, a drop down menu will give you a glimpse of any designs under that collection name. NOTE: There may be more than one collection with the same name, so look for the designer listed with each design. You can click on individual items in the drop down, or just hit enter in the search bar and you will see something like this page:

All designs with this collection name will show up on a new page! You can check the filter Browse by Designer area at the left of the page to see if you are dealing with just one designer or more. 

That's It!

I hope this helps you navigate Raspberry Creek Fabrics. Chances are if you find a fabric or wallpaper you love, there are coordinates that will add to your project.

Mexican Pottery-A Folksy Floral

Hi Friends!

I have joined a creative challenge called the 3x3 Design Challenge by Sketch Design Repeat. 

The challenge is one prompt a week for 3 weeks and I am excited to challenge myself creatively and also finding the time to add just one more design to my work week :)

My inspiration comes from Mexican Pottery. I am always drawn to it when we visit a pottery shop or outdoor garden center. The vibrant colors and floral themes get me every time.

Pretty Planners & Other New Collections

Hi Friends,

Happy Humpday!

Wednesday is the perfect day to highlight a few of my new Collections in my Zazzle Store.

First, I have some Pretty Planners to get you on task this year. Customize with the current year or add your name instead. Each planner has a vibrant, sturdy cover, front and back, which features my artwork. Each design has the artwork name on the back cover. There is also a page of fun stickers near the back page to help you prioritize events, etc.
