| New Paper Maché Ornaments |
I recently noticed the Christmas goodies are lining the shelves already!
So that nudge to create something just for the holidays came over me and I stopped by Hobby Lobby to see what creative trouble I could get into.
I found these sweet paper maché ornaments to paint. They are super lightweight and delicate. They come in craft paper brown with a gold braided hanging string. They were easy to paint with my acrylic paints, but if you are going to try these, keep in mind they are really absorbent and I found they needed a base layer of paint to make the design pop. You could use paint pens to decorate these, but I would still recommend a base paint layer first. I also added a finishing coat of varnish over the top to protect the painted design.
There are a couple more ornaments in violet and teal blue and they are all up in my Etsy Shop. I only painted 4, as I plan to do my ceramic Heirloom Ornaments this year. Ornaments are always a lovely gift idea, especially hand-painted and one of a kind. You might even consider personalizing them for extra unique gifting!
